Howard Baron, was born in the UK in 1900.  He was a traditional painter & portraitist.

He studied in the UK with HA Rigby, Sir Will Ashton & Middleton Todd, and portraiture under Fleewood-Walker.  He was given numerous commissions in his latter years including the portraits of the Lord Mayor of London, Sir Frank Newson; Dame Nellie Melba (Posth) which was presented to Sir Robert Menzies & hangs in the main hall of Australia House, London, HM Queen Elizabeth for the Royal Air Force, numerous business leaders and institutional heads.  He was awarded the Silver Medal, Paris Salon 1954, and elected fellow of the International Institute of Arts and Letters, Geneva1957.  He held many one-man & group exhibitions.  His works are represented in the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the QueenslandArtGallery, as well as many bodies and institutions in the UK and Australia.
